MOVING PARTS, THE COMPANY, IS AN INVITE-ONLY PERFORMANCE GROUP OF DEDICATED MOVEMENT ARTISTS WHO STUDY DANCE TOGETHER THROUGH VARIOUS LENSES, AND PERFORM THE DANCE WORKS OF FOUNDER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, SYDNEY BLANCHARD, PLUS GUEST ARTISTS. MEMBERS OF THE COMPANY ATTEND WEEKLY COMPANY CLASSES + REHEARSALS. OUR MEMBERS APPROACH DANCE FROM A VARIETY OF BACKGROUNDS- COMING TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE THE UNIQUE STRENGTHS OF ONE ANOTHER AND CELEBRATE EACH OTHER’S GROWTH IN A COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY BASED ON TRUST.

Sydney Blanchard is a seasoned dancer, choreographer, and instructor with over 20 years of experience in the professional dance field, working as a youth in ballet companies on the east coast before making a home in the world of contemporary movement. With a rich background in coaching, Sydney has dedicated over 7 years to cultivating the skills of advanced-level competitive teen dancers, and has attended training programs herself across the country and abroad before founding Moving Parts in 2021. Currently, she is staging innovative works for both film and live performances with the Moving Parts Company in Olympia, where she also serves as the Director of Programming. Sydney's dedication to her craft and her ability to connect with dancers make her a formidable force in the dance community.
